Well it looks like I haven’t updated this blog in a few days but i have managed to meditate at least once if not twice a day. I feel I am more aware of my state of mind and have a better ability to stop my thoughts from taking over my emotions. I feel my sleep was getting better but then I went drinking on Wednesday night and that may have affected everything. I am going to cut down on alcohol as much as I can from here on out.

I was able to do it twice each of these days.  However, still unable to go very deep.

The last two days I’ve meditated twice each day and gotten a great night sleep.  I actually tried out this brain wave generator software program where you listen to a frequency that is supposed to tune your brain into this relaxed state of mind.  I got a free demo from www.bwgen.com.  I’ll do whatever works.

Ok the previous day I had to travel so I tried meditating on the plane and on the bus but never really went deep.  I also got a bad night sleep.  About to meditate for the first time today.

Meditated late in the day at 8:45-9:10.  I need to work these meditations around my new job so I can be consistent.

Today was my first day of a new summer job so i never was able to meditate in the morning. Looks like I’m only going to be able to meditate only once today.

Edit: ended up meditating before bed and actually got a pretty good night sleep.

Today, I had another successful day of meditating twice for at least 15min each. I wasn’t able to get a really deep relaxation but I may try again before bedtime. That’s all for today.

Well today I had my last final exam so unfortunately I wasn’t able to meditate today but I plan on doing it two times tonight to make up for it. Now that exams have ended, I have no excuses to miss a meditation. I really want to focus on doing it at the same time every day.

Well today wasn’t the most successful day for my meditation program. I had a final exam today and I have one tomorrow so I only was able to meditate for about 3 minutes but I’ve read that a small amount of meditation is better than no meditation at all. I also plan to meditate for a normal amount of time right before I go to sleep tonight.

On an unrelated note, today I felt like I went into some type of meditative state while staring at the computer screen. This has happened to me plenty of times before when I stare at the screen for a long time, I’ll get this relaxed feeling where I get lightheaded and I feel like I’m floating off. Does this happen to anyone else?

Update: I had a great meditation before I went to bed and slept decently well despite only getting 4 hrs of sleep to take my 8:3oam exam.

Ok, I’m starting this post to write down all the tips I find on meditating so that I don’t forget them while I progress.

Tips
- have an empty stomach
- eliminate any distractions(shut door, turn off cell phone, etc)
- keep back straight whether sitting or laying down
- keep a regular schedule(haven’t been able to do this yet myself)
- meditate in the same place
- practice twice a day
- to be continued…
